40 Morning Prayers Before You Start Your Day

As Christians the most important part of our day should be the moment we spend having a deep communion with God through prayers. The prayers are best made very early in the morning before our day-to-day activities start. 

As an individual or as a family, it is a great thing to wake up as early as 5 a.m. to talk to God and worship him. Through this communion we gain control over our day. As Ephesians 5:16 pointed out, the days are evil and it is not wise to start our day without first redeeming the time through communication with God.

 Having a study plan for reading the scriptures and writing out prayer points to use as prayer focus are both great ways of ensuring that we are consistent in our early morning prayers. We use the study plan to study the scriptures and meditate as soon as  we wake up and then we choose prayers from the list of prayer focus we have made. 

 Early morning prayers will be almost impossible if we aren’t committed to strict discipline and unwavering determination. Sleep early so you can wake up early. Set an alarm and make sure you get up from the bed as soon as the alarm goes off. Never find an excuse for missing your early morning prayers. Finding excuses will encourage you to be lazy and undisciplined. 

In a society like ours where we are already burdened with too many activities, getting up very early after a stressful day may be almost impossible, so the matter of discipline and consistency is easier said than done. However the benefits of finding time to pray early in the morning surpass any stress or the sleep we cut short. We should remember these benefits anytime we feel too lazy or busy to remain consistent with our early morning prayers.

When you pray early in the morning you: 

1. Gain control over principalities and powers that want to perpetrate evil during the day.
2. get strength and inspiration from God— the strength and inspiration will help you to overcome anything powerful that may want to come your way during the day. 
3. strengthen your friendship with God 
4. take charge of situations and events even before they happen. 
5. get to decree and declare exactly how you want your day to be and what you want for a day.
6. get the opportunity to intercede for other people and tell God how you want their day to be and what you want for them that day.
7. secure your assurance of coming back home safely.
8. get your own portion of the blessings that God has loaded into the day.
9. build your spiritual muscle— if a body builder need to go to gym every day to build muscle then you build your spiritual muscle when you pray early in the morning every day.

1. Heavenly Father, I bless your holy name for the opportunity to wake up hale and hearty. Thank you so much Lord Jesus. Holy Spirit, may your name alone be glorified.
