Having faith in God is a personal and meaningful journey. However, we find it hard to trust God completely.
We depend on our strength and people because we feel God does not care about us or maybe He is too slow in coming through for us.
But these are far from the truth. What we truly need is a strong belief in God and His Words.

- Without faith, there will be a limit to the blessings we can get from God. James in his writings to the Jewish community said;
“When you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.”
James 1:6-8 NIV
So you see, the issue of faith cannot be overemphasized in our Christian journey.
To increase our faith, we must be grounded in the Word because in Paul’s letter to the Romans, he mentioned that faith comes by hearing the word of God. Thus, the journey of faith begins with our studying and confessing the Word.
Practical Ways To Increase Our Faith.
- Trusting in God’s Plan: Increasing faith means surrendering control and trusting that God has a purpose for our lives, even when things may not go as planned.
- Seeking Spiritual Nourishment: Engaging in prayer, reading scriptures, and connecting with a faith community can deepen our relationship with God and strengthen our faith.
- Reflecting on Past Experiences: Remembering times when God has shown His faithfulness and answered prayers can help build confidence in His presence and care.
- Embracing Uncertainty: Faith involves accepting that not everything in life will be clear or predictable, but trusting that God is guiding us through each step.
- Surrounding ourselves with Support: Being around like-minded individuals who share our faith can provide encouragement and accountability on our spiritual journeys.
Remember, faith is a personal and unique experience for each individual. It’s a lifelong journey of growth and learning.
Stay open-hearted, seek guidance, and find comfort in knowing that God is always with you. ️

Prayer To Increase My Faith
- Heavenly Father, I thank You for the great men of faith in the Bible who served as inspirations and examples that we can emulate to become men and women of faith.
So Lord I ask that you give me the kind of faith which Paul had that made him endure hardship, torture, and incarceration for the purpose of the Gospel of Christ in Jesus name.
- Strengthen my faith to focus on the ultimate prize in heaven and not earthly crowns in Jesus’ name.
- Almighty God, I confess that it is hard for me to trust You and believe Your Word. I humbly ask that you increase my faith in Jesus name.
- Remove anything in my life that causes doubt and lack of faith in Jesus name.
- Help me to focus on You alone and not my trials and enemies in Jesus’ name.
- Faithful God, strengthen my faith to totally believe in You, most especially in the place of prayer. Help me believe that You will grant me whatever I ask You at the right time in Jesus name.
- Righteous One, Your Word says that with faith like a mustard seed, we can move a mountain. Lord, grant me such a faith that will move every situation that seems impossible out of my way in Jesus name.
- Heavenly father, I ask for an increased and strong faith today. I knock on faith’s door; let it open for my sake. I look for faith in You; please bless me with it at this very moment, in Jesus’ name.
- Lord, I have depended on my strength and understanding but failed. So I ask that You lead me by faith. I surrender my heart unto You this day, work on my faith and build it to Your taste so that I can please You in all things in Jesus’ name.
- Dear Lord, I understand the role of prayer in increasing faith. So I pray for strength and the ability to maintain an effective prayer life in Jesus name.
- Let Your Holy Spirit teach me how to pray and help me to endure in the place of prayer. May I long to be in Your presence every day of my life, and pray without ceasing in Jesus name.
- Let steadfast faith be a reward for my prayer life in Jesus’ name.

- Dear Lord, I believe in Your Word, which shows that the most effective way to strengthen my faith is when I activate it through practice. Lord, give me the grace to exercise my faith and courage in Jesus name.
CONCLUSION
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
