The devil, the father of lies and wickedness is always waging war and raising his ugly head against a new believer, hence one of the means the devil put to use in fighting a new believer is by placing evil yokes upon them and one of the yokes is the yoke of sin. The devil knows that when he places the yoke of sin on a new believer, then such Christian will continually fall back into sin even though he has confessed Jesus as His personal Lord and Saviour. This clearly shows why we must always pray this prayer as new believers and as a rooted Christian.

1 Thessalonians 5:9

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

As a new believer, we should be happy because despite all the ranting of the devil, a new believer still has victory in Christ Jesus.
