What Is Sorrow?

Sorrow is a feeling of deep distress or sadness caused by loss, disappointment, or other misfortune suffered by oneself or others. Though sorrow is more intense than sadness it can lead to depression, worse still it can be suicidal. Sorrow can be as a result of loss of job, miscarriage, financial debts, loneliness, rejection, bareness, delay in getting married, lack of job and so much more. 

According to our scripture, it was a story of Hannah. Hannah was barren she had no child not because she offended anyone, it was stated that the Lord Himself shut her womb. Sometimes we face things in life not because of our sins nor because of evil spiritual forces may it be for the glory of God that is why when one is not happy with whatever situation you found yourself one must never give up rather one must PRAY. The bible says in John 14:14 “If we ask anything in His name He will do it. If you desire to turn your sorrow to joy you must pray, do not keep quiet because a closed mouth is a closed destiny. 

What Is Joy?

Joy is a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. When a child is born into a family the family is filled with great joy, when one receives a promotion letter there is joy, the presence of God also brings great joy into one’s life, any form of good news brings joy to one’s life. When one is joyful the spirit soul and body stays healthy and strong, that is why it is compulsory for one to stay joyful, anyone that is joyful can achieve things so easily because the person is in a right state of mind.

Psalms 30:11 says:  You have turned for me my mourning into dancing, you have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness. This can only happen if you do not want to remain in sorrow.

What Must You Do To Turn Your Sorrow To Joy?

First, is to identify what exactly is giving you sorrow, ones this is identified you must surrender your life to Jesus Christ because He is the only everlasting joy. The bible says in Nehemiah 8:10 The Joy of the Lord is my strength. Even in the storm of life the joy of the Lord will always be there to see us through. The devil is the author and career of sorrow that is the more reason we must give it up to God He gives peace in the midst of the storm thereby evicting sorrow completely.

Secondly, we must acknowledge the presence of God if we want to be free from sorrow. The bible says the entrance of His words gives light anywhere there is light darkness disappears. Study His words every day, when the taught of sorrow comes counter it with the word of God. Stay joyful every seconds because the devil will always bring the taught of failure so as to weigh one down.
