INTRODUCTION:

Backsliding is when someone who has been a Christian, begins to disregard things of God, when the person begins to see, associate, or carry out sinful habits as a norm. 2 Peter 3:9 says “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. God does not want anyone of His children to perish, because if one backslides, the person will perish at the end. 

Truly, we err sometimes, but whenever we fall there is always an opportunity for us to rise and retrace our steps back to God. Backsliding consists of any sinful act such as stealing, lying, fornicating, backbiting, relenting in studying the words of God, relenting in praying to God and every spiritual activity.

Therefore, in our article today, we will be looking at confession prayers when backsliding. However, there are signs to look out for when backsliding.

When you notice you are withdrawing from the things of God and nothing spiritual seems to interest you anymore and any sinful act makes you happy and excited, then you should know that backsliding is setting in.

To prevent backsliding, you must take the following steps:

.   Identify you have erred and backsliding in the things of God. This is where the deliverance starts from. Once you recognize that you are no more in line with what God wants you to do, then your deliverance and freedom has started.

.  Surrender your totality to God in prayers and ask Him to purge and reorder your steps back to Him.

.    Never stop reading and studying the words of God, because that is what is going to guide and guard you daily.

.   Stay away from things or people that take away the Presence of God from you.

. Never forsake the gathering of God’s people, because this will help and strengthen your faith in Christ.

.   Pray against every force or every arrow of backsliding fired against you to destroy you.

Confession Prayers When Backsliding

1. Oh Lord my father, purge me and wash me clean from my sins in the name of Jesus.
2. I ask that You forgive every known and unknown sins in my life in the name of Jesus.
3. Lord Jesus, I declare and decree more of You in my life and less of me in the name of Jesus.
4. Every root of backsliding in my life, be uprooted and burn to ashes in the name of Jesus.
5. Every arrow of backsliding fired against my life, backfired seven folds in the name of Jesus.
6. I speak the blood of Jesus over every sin operating in my life in the name of Jesus.
7. I will not be a castaway in Your Presence in the name of Jesus.
8. Oh Lord my father, rekindle Your fire in my life in the name of Jesus.
9. I receive fresh baptism of the Holy Ghost to win more souls for Christ in the name of Jesus.
10. I command every act of flesh in my spiritual pipe to burn to ashes in the name of Jesus.
11. I confess that Jesus is Lord over my life in the name of Jesus.
12. Every spirit of rising and falling over my walk with God, die by fire and thunder in the name of Jesus.
13. I free myself from every unfriendly friend drawing me back to sin in the name of Jesus.
14. I break free from every evil addiction operating in my life in the name of Jesus.
15. I invite the Holy Spirit into my life to come and dwell with me day in day out in the name of Jesus.
16. Lord Jesus, break me and remold me in Your likeness in the name of Jesus.
17. Every spirit of selfishness that is making me to backslide, dry up and die from my life in the name of Jesus.
18. Oh Lord empower me with Your Holy Spirit to say No to the things of the world in the name of Jesus.
19. Every arrow of backsliding, fired against me to make me become a candidate of hell fire, backfire seven folds in the name of Jesus.
20. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me now in the name of Jesus.
21. I receive fresh fire from the Holy Ghost to do exploits for You oh God in the name of Jesus.
22. My father increased me in the knowledge of God in the name of Jesus.
23. I shake off by fire, every unserious attitude in my life in the name of Jesus.
24. My inner man receives fresh fire from the Holy Ghost in the name of Jesus.
25. I depopulate hell by Your fire and power in me in the name of Jesus.
26. My fire for Christ will not go down in the name of Jesus.
27. You spirit of backsliding, leave my life forever and never return in the name of Jesus.
28. Come what may, I will follow Jesus Christ for the rest of my life, and nothing shall be able to separate me from the love of Jesus Christ in the name of Jesus.
29. Oh Lord my father, let my life bring more souls to Christ in the name of Jesus.

Thank You Lord Jesus for destroying the strongholds of backsliding from my life in the name of Jesus.
