Introduction

God often uses people as channels of encouragement, recommendations, opportunities, financial support, employment, business connections, counsel, and other forms of assistance. Yet there are situations where someone who genuinely wanted to help suddenly becomes distant, changes their mind, stops communicating, or begins behaving differently toward you. Circumstances may have changed, resources may no longer be available, expectations may have been misunderstood, or something in your own behaviour may have affected the relationship. Prayer for destiny helpers should therefore include discernment and self-examination, not suspicion and accusations against everyone around you.

There are nevertheless occasions when genuine opposition can arise against good relationships and opportunities through jealousy, slander, deception, unhealthy interference, or spiritual warfare. Instead of becoming afraid or confronting people based merely on suspicion, bring the situation before God and ask Him to expose the truth. Isaiah 54:17 says, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.”

If someone who promised to help suddenly withdraws, resist the temptation to believe that your entire future has collapsed because that person changed their mind. God is capable of using another person, creating another opportunity, or opening a completely different door that you never expected. Never allow your confidence in a helper to become greater than your confidence in the God who can send help from many directions.

Develop your skills, maintain integrity, communicate respectfully, appreciate those who assist you, keep your commitments, and manage opportunities responsibly.
