Psalm 90:17 says, “And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.” The beauty of the Lord upon a person speaks of His favour, grace, dignity, wisdom, excellence, and pleasantness resting upon that life, causing the person’s presence and work to carry something beyond ordinary human effort.
When the beauty of God rests upon you in a workplace, you do not only ask to be noticed; you ask to be noticed for the right reasons. You want your attitude, competence, humility, integrity, communication, and results to attract respect, trust, and favour, so that people can see something wholesome and excellent in the way you carry yourself.
The same verse also says, “establish thou the work of our hands.” This means it is possible to work and still struggle to see stability, recognition, growth, or lasting results, which is why you should ask God not only to give you work but to establish what you do, preserve your efforts, and make your labour fruitful.
A new workplace can also expose you to spiritual and relational pressures you did not experience before. There may be competition, jealousy, hostility, manipulation, temptation, misunderstanding, wrong associations, or people who may not immediately accept you, so spiritual warfare in this context means praying for protection, discernment, wisdom, peace, and grace to overcome every influence that seeks to weaken your progress or character.
However, spiritual warfare should never make you suspicious of everybody around you. Your strongest defence is not fear but a life of prayer, wisdom, excellence, humility, and integrity, because many workplace battles are won by refusing gossip, controlling your tongue, respecting authority, doing your work well, and refusing to participate in things that can later be used against you.
As you prepare to resume, pray that the beauty of the Lord will go with you into that environment. Ask God to make your presence peaceful, your work excellent, your decisions wise, your relationships healthy, and your name associated with trust and good results, while every trap, unnecessary conflict, and wrong influence around your new season loses its power over you.
Do not enter the job with fear, but do not enter carelessly either. Go with prayer and preparation, asking God to establish the work of your hands, shield you from spiritual and practical dangers, give you favour without compromise, and make this new job a place of growth, stability, learning, honour, and lasting progress, in Jesus’ name.

1. Commit the Job to God
Before resuming, deliberately present the job to God in prayer.
Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.” Ask God to guide your conduct, decisions, relationships, and long-term direction in the workplace.
2. Resume With Humility
Do not enter the new job acting as though you already know everything.
Even if you have experience, every organization has its own systems, expectations, and culture. A teachable attitude will help you settle faster.

Many people make mistakes because they are too eager to prove themselves.
