PRAYER TO OVERCOME ANGER AND RESENTMENT

Ephesians 4:26

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

Every day of our existence on earth we are going to encounter or be in a position where our emotional reaction will be tested. It may be a friend hurting us by mistake, it may be a family member saying something that may upset us. Maybe not getting enough credit that you deserve for work done. How well do you react when these offences kick in? You know, it is natural to get angry, it is a normal trait “every human possesses, but your ability to manage your anger is what matters most.

If you are unable to manage your anger it may lead to strife, fights or even chaos. That is why we need the Holy Spirit to help us to be meek. The bible says in Ephesians 4:26-27 that it is okay to be angry but we shouldn’t give an edge to the devil when we do get angry.

It is important that we know  that holding on to anger is sin, which is why we should at often times forgive people and let go. Trust me, if you are holding on to anger the weight is always on you but when you let go, you feel this weight off your shoulder.

To conquer anger issues you have to rely solely on God to build better character traits in you and help you develop and become more of a listening person than a talking person. 

Don’t forget we are also looking at resentment. These two goes together, resentment may be deep hatred you have for someone. If not controlled, it can cause you to miss blessings assigned to you. It deprived Moses from entering the promised land, because he got angry and he disobeyed God. 

Result Of Anger And Resentment

1. Anger and Resentment breaks relationships.
2. It hinders blessings.
3. It leads to depression and unsettlement.

Prayer To Overcome Anger And Resentment

1.  Lord, I thank you for creating me this way. I know you have good plans for me.
2. Lord, I pray against every contrary spirit, spirit of anger and hatred, I come against it in the name of Jesus.
3. Lord, every blessing that I will miss due to anger issues, I pray oh God that you help me overcome in the name of Jesus.
4. Lord, every bitter feeling against my fellow brother, I come against it with the name of Jesus.
5. Lord, today I pray for a teachable, forgiving and loving spirit in the name Jesus.
6. Lord, help me to contain every spirit of anger and bless me with the spirit of meekness in the name of Jesus.
7. Lord, help me overcome the spirit of anger at all times in the name of Jesus.
8. Father Lord, I pray today that my anger issues don’t lead me to cause harm in the name of Jesus.
9. Father endowed me with the spirit of love, help me to love enemies in the name of Jesus.
10.  Lord, forgive every wrong I have done as a result of anger in the name of Jesus.
11.  Lord, you are the potter and I am the clay, Lord I pray for total reformation and a rebuild of self-character and anger management in Jesus name.
12.  Every manipulation from hell that wants me to make mistakes and destroy my blessings due to anger issues lord I command fire against them in the name of Jesus.
13.  Whatsoever pollution by the devil through the spirit of hatred and anger, lord I pray for cleansing in the name of Jesus. 
14.  Lord, I pray for sufficient grace to overcome temptation and trials in Jesus name.
