Bad thoughts are wrong and negative thinking that lead to sin, immoral, or evil acts. They are thoughts we should not be having, of things we should not be thinking about and things we should not do. 

Bad thoughts are dangerous as they can lead to sinful acts, evil or even criminal acts.  Hence it is important to think good all the time and never allow the tree of bad thoughts to grow in us.

How to avoid bad thoughts. 

1. Pray: Prayer against bad thoughts will keep them away from us. We can pray to suppress evil thoughts anytime they occur.
2. Read the word of God: The word of God is food to the spirit. We can read the word of God to get our spirit and mind enriched with the holy word, and to think and proclaim the good words thereof. 
3. Self-control: We must learn to avert our minds away from bad thoughts, and to control ourselves from doing anything that arises as a result of bad thoughts. Self-control is one of the fruits of the spirit and it is essential for every believer to have self-control. 
4. Keep busy: Bad thoughts occur more often in lonely moments. Like the saying “An Idle hand is the devil’s workshop”

We should avoid being idle to avoid bad thoughts setting in. We can pray or read the word of God when we have less to do. 

5. Keep good company: Bad company births bad thoughts. When in the midst of bad company, bad thoughts coming from one person can be transferred and influenced on the whole group.

1. Father, I thank you for the grace and the privilege to be alive. 
2. Lord, I thank you for your presence in my life, be thou glorified in Jesus name.
3. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end”

Father, I say thank you for your good thoughts concerning me.

4. Father, I thank you for the salvation of my soul.
5. Father, I rebuke any evil spirit trying to manipulate my head in the name of Jesus. 
6. Lord, give me the grace to overcome temptations of life in the name of Jesus.
