40 Prayer Points To Pull Down Evil Altars

“And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father’s young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it. And build an altar unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down.”

Introduction

An altar is usually a separate and raised platform used for offering sacrifices and burning incense for worship. Today we are looking at how to pull down evil altars.

An evil altar is a platform or a separate place where sacrifices are offered by the agents of darkness like a priest or a wicked one to cage or hold the destiny of men down. An evil altar is a place where the souls of men are caged and destroyed by the devil. When this evil altar is raised against a man, it goes to work to scatter whatever God has blessed or is about to bless him with. Evil altars are the destroyer of men’s destiny, it is a stronghold of darkness to manipulate and destroy the destiny of men.

There are various kinds of evil altar that can be raised against a child of God. Examples are; altar of poverty, altar of marital delays, altar of stagnation and backwardness, altar of untimely death, altar of promiscuity and adultery, etc. this is just to mention a few.

Evil altars can be built by one consciously or unconsciously, it can be inherited and it can be raised against a child of God by his adversaries. Once an evil altar is at work in a man’s life irrespective of how it came about, God will not work or use such a man until that evil altar is pulled down and a new one is raised and dedicated to God. We saw it in the case of Gideon, in Judges 6:25-26, where God told him to pull down the altar of Baal in his fathers compound and raise a new and better altar in God’s name. It was after this that God called him to service and used him mightily. Pulling down the altar of Baal raised by his father and raising another to God gave Gideon his place in life. Evil altars have turned a lot of God’s children to wanderers in their land of glory and fame.

The devil knows the significance of raising an evil altar against a man especially if he does not know his God and has no instituted altar of God in his life. So the devil uses evil altars through his agents to destroy the life of a child of God. This is why the children of God have to come out of their ignorant and spiritual shallowness and begin to understand the ways of God and stand against the wiles of the devil and his agents. There is no plan and purpose of the devil against any of God’s children that God has not made provision for their escape, we as children of God only have to find out these escape mysteries and apply it and the devil will flee.

The word of God said in Matthew 15:13, “Jesus answered and said, any PLANT(EVIL ALTAR) which my heavenly Father has not planted shall be rooted out(pulled down). Emphasis are mine. Jesus knows that without those evil altars being rooted out, the glory of God in a man can’t come to manifestation, neither will his destiny be fulfilled. So we as children of God have to look out for every evil altar associated with us and pull them down. 

How do I pull down evil altars associated with me.

First, recognize that there is an evil altar raised by your forefathers which you have inherited, or there is one you raised either consciously or unconsciously, or the one an evil man raised to destroy your life and destiny.

Secondly, repent of your sins and ask God for forgiveness and commit to a life of sanctity and righteousness. 2chronicles 7:14 says “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Repenting and seeking God’s face is the right step for God to step in and heal your land by helping you to pull down the evil altars in operation in your life.

Thirdly, begin to engage with the word of God, coupled with prayer and fasting all done in faith, remember the word says “howbeit this kind goes not away but by prayer and by fasting” Matthew 17:21. When you engage with the force of God, have in mind that our God is a consuming fire Hebrew 12:29, that consumes every evil altar with his unquenchable fire, also Jeremiah 23:29 says “Is not my word like a fire? Says the Lord; and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces.” so whatever element that evil altar was made with, our God and His word is able to break and pull down.

Fourthly, pray in faith with the name of Jesus Christ. Faith in the name of Jesus Christ and calling His name into that situation is what give credence to your prayer, Hebrew 11:6 “But without faith, it is impossible to please God, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he rewards them that diligently seek him.” So faith is a must, if you want to pull down evil altars around your life and destiny. Philippians 2:9-11 “Wherefore God has highly exalted him, and given a name which is above every name, that at the mention of Jesus Christ every knee must bow, of things in heaven, and things in the earth, and things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the father.” So you pray in the name of Jesus Christ in faith and that evil alter will come kneeling and eventually crash.

Fifth, Raise a new altar unto God. This you must do to prevent the devil from raising another altar. The new altar will counter the old evil altar and also stand as an eternal wall against any other evil altar that might want to be raised against you at any time. You must also begin to serve God fervently in any capacity that is enjoyable to your soul and use this as a weapon against the dev and his agents. Remember when God told Gideon to pull down that evil altar of Baal of his father, he didn’t leave it there, God told him to raise another one in His name, and he did so. When this is done in faith, that evil altar cannot stand.
