Our text for this topic is taken from the book psalms 55:12-14 it says  For it is not an enemy who insults me— I could have handled that— nor is it someone who hates me and who now arises against me— I could have hidden myself from him— but it is you— a man whom I treated as my equal— my personal confidant, my close friend! We had good fellowship together; and we even walked together in the house of God!

Also the scriptures from the book of Job 19:13-14 says My relatives stay far away, and my friends have turned against me. My family is gone, and my close friends have forgotten me.

We can see closely  from the two scriptures above that an insight about our topic for discussion today prayers against betrayal has been explained. Betrayal is an act of delivering someone, the person might be a family member, friends and even close confidant into the enemy’s hand through treacherous means or method, also we must understand that the devil is behind the act of betrayal, he uses men against men, a perfect example is the case of Judas and Jesus Christ we are going to use that as our illustration for this topic.

Betrayal is one of the worst thing that can ever happen to a man, because mostly it comes from the hands of close confidant like friends and family member, it leads to both emotional pain and physical pain, mostly the pain experienced as a result of betrayal can destroy the life of an individual and that is exactly what the devil wants because we know is mission according to the book of John 10: 10 it says the devil as come to steal, kill and destroy and one of the ways he uses to carry out this is through betrayal.

Let’s quickly look at the case study of Jesus Christ and Judas Iscariot which serve as a perfect example to our topic of betrayal, it will open us up and give us better understanding that if Jesus could be betrayed then any body can also fall into the trap of betrayal, because Jesus himself was not above or immune to betrayal. Another case of betrayal in the scriptures was when peter betrayed Jesus by denying that he never knew him, the scriptures told us from the book Matthew 26:33-35 that peter denied Jesus 3 times before day break and he was also one of the closest confidant of Jesus Christ he was one of the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ.

Joseph is another example from the scriptures of somebody was betrayed by his blood, he was betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery read the book of Genesis 37:12-36 for better understanding. We can now see from the illustration above that betrayal can come from a close confidant just like the case of Jesus and Judas, also is the case of Joseph who was sold into slavery by his blood brothers.

How to overcome the spirit of betrayal:

3. Don’t dwell on it move on as fast as possible and fix your eyes on Jesus Hebrew 12:15
