Who Is An Unfriendly Friend?

An unfriendly friend is someone who pretends to be your good friend but is actually your enemy. Such a person will mostly say good things about you in your presence but when you are not there, he or she will say bad things about you. As indicated in our introductory text, the psalmist lamented that if it was an enemy or someone who hated him that came against him, he could have borne it but it was his guide, his friend, he further explains that they both took sweet counsel together and even went to church together, yet that did not stop the unfriendly friend from rising against him.
