40 Prayers To Create Peace Within The Family
Roman s12:18
The need for unity in the family cannot be overly emphasized, it is only right that members of a family are able to not only co-exist but live in love and harmony. Many families struggle to maintain peace amongst the members due to a number of reasons, but we are urged to always let love be genuine, to hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good, to love one another with brotherly affection and outdo one another in showing honour ( Romans 12:9-10).
It takes the divine intervention of God for a family to live in peace and tranquility, since each individual shows dynamism and must not always agree with the other party. Prayer is a great way by which we bring families before God. Below are prayers that’ll help create peace within the family.
- Lord God, I thank you for your goodness upon me and my family. Thank you for your constant provision and protection, for your love overwhelms me, be highly glorified Lord.
- Thank you for blessing me with an amazing home, and great people that I can call my own. I’m truly grateful for the gift of men that came into my life as family members.
- Thank you for everything, times of laughter, times of disagreements and what not. I give you glory o Lord for our situations do not make you any less. Just as the book of 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says; “rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”.
- I’m truly grateful that I have the opportunity to bring my family before your throne of mercy, thank you for this great privilege oh Lord my Father.
- Thank you for birthing in my heart the desire to live in peace, for I know that every good thing comes from you.
- I have greatly sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Have mercy on my soul o Lord.
- I believe that sin separates us from you, I no longer want to be separated O Lord my God.
- I come before your throne of mercy at this hour, seeking pardon for all my wrongdoings, I ask for forgiveness of all my sins.
- Â 1John 1:9 says; ” If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. I ask Lord that you wash me to be as white as snow.
- I bring before you, every member of my family, I stand in the gap o Lord, asking for mercy upon their lives. Forgive their sins Lord and look with pity upon them.
- Grant us pardon, so that our prayers may he heard by you Lord my God, for Psalm 66:18 says; “If I had ignored my sins, the Lord will not have listened to me”.
-  Hebrews 4:16;” let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need”. I pray for grace upon my family, that we may live in harmony at every point in time.Â
- I pray that we may embrace the thought of peace, and work towards actualization.
- Psalm 133:1; “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!. I ask that you grant us the willingness to accommodate ourselves.
- Lord God ,help us to hold unfailing love for ourselves, since love covers a multitude of sins.( 1 Peter 4:8).
- May we always be willing to accommodate our differences and live in harmony.
- May love always reign, even in times of misunderstandings, may we see past our differences and see more reasons to be unitedÂ
- The book of Colossians 3:13 urges us to forbear one another, may you teach us O Holy Spirit of God to tolerate ourselves.
- May we exhibit the characteristics of love, just as the book of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 clearly starts; “love is patient and kind, love is not jealous or boastful, it is not arrogant or rude, love does not insist on its own way, it is not irritable or resentful, it does not rejoice at wrong but rejoices in the right, love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things endures all things. Love never ends; as for the prophecies they will pass away, as for tongues they will cease as for knowledge it will pass away”.
- I come against every power that causes disunity amongst my family members.
- I pray O Lord that you condemn every plot of the enemy to bring disharmony amongst my family members.
- I pray that you guard our hearts, protect us from every evil manipulation of the enemy targeted at the peace that exists in our home. For the thief, which is the devil, comes only to steal, to kill and to destroy.
- Purge us off every tendency to choose drama and malice rather than peace and unity.
- Ephesians 6:12 says; ” For we do not contend against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Give us grace to understand this.
- Every situation that could lead to loss of peace amongst my family members, I ask the Lord that you give us the grace to discern and flee from it.
- Give each and everyone of us the grace to let go of all the grudges we have held against ourselves.
- Enable us to forgive the wrongs that have been done by the members of the family in the past. For if we forgive men their trespasses our heavenly father also will forgive us, but if we do not forgive men their trespasses neither will our father forgive our trespasses ( Matthew 6:14-15).
- Bless us with the healing power of forgiveness. Ephesians 4:31-32 says; “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamour and slander be put away from you, with all malice. Grant us power to let go of all the hurt and embrace a better start.
- May love abound richly in our hearts and amongst ourselves, may we grow in the love of ChristÂ
- O Holy Spirit of God, teach us the right way to show love to the members of our family, may your love be poured abundantly in our hearts.
- ” And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony” (Colossians 3:14). May we wear love like a garment.
- O Lord, I ask that you give us the grace to sort out our differences, that peace may sprout forth like a seed amongst my family members.
- May the Holy Spirit, perfect our struggle for reconciliation and give us grace to re-unite to the glory of God.
- Give us the grace to learn to communicate our feelings and ideas the right way, to avoid every form of disunity.
- May you guide our words and actions, so that whilst we interact, we may not offend one another, but share peace and joy across.
- Proverbs 16:24 says; ” pleasant words are like honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body”. May we learn to encourage one another with kind words that are pleasant to the soul.
- May you give us the grace to foster trust amongst ourselves, even as love increases.
- May you all Lord bless us with wisdom and understanding to navigate our family challenges and to restore peace to the greater glory of your name. I believe we can obtain this, for it is written “anyone who lacks wisdom, let him ask God who gives all men generously and without reproaching and it will be given unto him.(James 1:5).
- Thank you Lord Jesus for I believe that my prayers will be heard and will be acceptable unto you.
- Thank you Lord for prayers answered, blessed be your holy name in Jesus name amen.
