40 Prayers To Stop Fornication This Year

Battling with the sin of fornication in a bid to stop, in a world filled with temptations can be challenging. Many circumstances can expose one to occasions of such sin, but regardless, we have been called to live a life of holiness and purity.

This article outlines ways to lead one through the saving power of prayer to overcome fornication and embrace purity. In addition, bible verses that will help give us deeper insight and understanding on the topic and weapons that have been made available for our victory.

Below are some prayers to be made in a bid to overcome and completely stop fornication this year.

• Lord Jesus I worship you for you are King of Kings, you are the lord of lords, the Elohim, there is no one like you,  you are glorious in all your ways, you are magnificent in all your doings, you are God all by yourself. I bless you for your grace upon my life, for sustaining me even up until this moment, for your favour  and the numerous blessings that surround me, above all for  your unconditional love for me.
• Thank you for constantly showing me mercy, for not turning your face away from me. Thank you for by the death and resurrection of my Lord, Jesus Christ, I am made whole and my sins washed away
• Thank you for constantly beckoning on me to come to you and be free from every chain of sin. For it is by your grace that I’m here willing to end the sin of fornication, your love for me has given me a reason to be reunited with you.
• I come before you oh lord God, sinful and sorrowful asking for you to show your mercy and forgive me all my sins, for your word says in 1John 1:9 “if we confess our sins he is faithful and just and will cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. I pray that you cleanse me from the sin of fornication and you wash me for your word says even if my sins are as dark as charcoal you are able to make me as white as snow.
• I pray for pardon, that you look with pity upon me and see the blood that was shed on the cross of Calvary for my sake and that of the whole world by your only begotten son and grant me absolution for all my sins.
• I ask that you do not cast me away from your presence, for I know that a prayer of a sinner is an abomination before you. Rather look upon the sacrifice that was made for the whole world to make us whole again.
• I pray you heal me of every injury that the sin of fornication has inflicted on me, every pain and distress I feel, I ask Lord that you take it away , the book of Isaiah 53:5 says, “but because of our sins, he was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did. We are healed by the punishment he suffered, made whole by the blows he received”.
• Every burden I have brought upon myself through the sin of fornication, I ask oh Lord that you relieve me of it. For on the cross, you my Lord took care of all of these, you bore our burdens oh Lord.
• Grant that I feel the weight lifted off of me. I cast all my burdens on you and I lay every pain on the foot of the cross, for now I bear the yoke of Christ.
• Oh lord my God, I believe that you are able to help me to overcome the sin of fornication, I trust in you to deliver me from this sin and to grant me sufficient grace to be freed from this chain. Romans 6:14; “sin must not be your master for you do not live under the law, but under God’s grace.
• I no longer want to be a slave if this sin. Give me sufficient grace to conquer all the temptations and come out victorious.
• Grant that I understand that by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I have been given the power to live above sin and live in purity to the glory of God the Father through Jesus Christ my Lord.
• I acknowledge that every form of immorality is a sin before you and that the sin of fornication is a sin against my own body, grant that with the understanding of this knowledge I be free from every evil committed against my body and against you my God.
• I no longer want to sin against you. For you have done so much for me and it is only right that I obey your commandments. I know that all that you command is for our well being to the glory of God.
• Grant that I always come to the remembrance of my body being a temple of the Holy Spirit, so that I may have utmost understanding of what fornication can do to me, and flee totally from it.
• I make up my mind this very day to live for you Lord, to live a life that is pleasing in your sight,  to live a life of purity, a life void of every form of fornication and evil deeds. I ask oh Lord my God that you grant me sufficient grace, for I understand that it is not by my power but by the spirit. I offer myself as a living sacrifice dedicated to your service and pleasing to you.
• Give me sufficient grace to die to my flesh every passing day, and be fully drained from the desire to run back to the sin of fornication. Let your spirit, purge me of every desire to commit fornication and give me grace to live a life acceptable unto you.
• Even as I give  my body unto you, I ask that my body may be acceptable unto you. That I be unto you, a vessel of honor to the greater glory of God.
• I understand Lord that by the death and resurrection of my lord, Jesus Christ I have been made whole and I am no longer a slave to sin. I believe that it is no longer I that lives but Christ that lives in me. For I live by faith in the son of God who loved me and gave his life for me. (Galatians 2:20). For God so loved the world so much that he gave his only so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life,(john3:16).
• I believe that Jesus has freed us by his death and resurrection, from every bondage that sin had kept is in. I believe by the knowledge of this truth, I am set free from every yoke of sin.
• Let your sacrifice on the cross oh Lord my God constantly he unto me a reason to not go back to my old ways. Surround me with your love and pour in my heart, love for you my Lord.
• Even as I’ve made this decision, I ask Lord for divine guidance, that you direct this new path, to bring me to the expected end to which you have called me. For you are my shelter and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.
• Bless me with a strong will, even as I have made up my mind to not go back to my old ways, that I may stand by that decision.
• Hold me by the hands and lead me to a place of purity. As I step out of sin, by faith I step into a life of purity, a life acceptable unto God.
• Give me strength to resist the sin of fornication, to overcome every burning desire that may lead me back to that which I have abandoned.
• Every form of weakness that exists in me, I ask oh Lord that your strength may be made perfect in it. That your grace may always be made available to flee from that which kills me, the sin of fornication.
• Surround me oh God, with godly people, that’ll encourage me to aim for godliness and purity. Uproot every association and company that may lead me back to fornication, oh Lord my God.
• Grant me grace to discern every plot of the devil designed to pull me back to the sin of fornication. I pray for strength to overcome every temptation that will come my way. I put on the armour of God that will equip me to stand up against the devil’s evil tricks.
• Grant that I be at the right place at every given point in time, so that I will not be found wanting.
• Cover me with your wings of protection and give your angels charge over me to lead me through out life’s journey.
• I refuse to give in to the desires of my flesh, grant that I obey your spirit that lives within me Lord Jesus. For Romans 8:5 says; “Those who live as their human nature tells them to, have their minds controlled by what human nature wants. Those who live as the spirit tells them to, have their minds controlled by what the spirit wants”. May your holy spirit always direct me Lord God.
• Teach me your ways oh Lord, teach me to live according to your words, let your Holy Spirit guide me through the path of purity.
• Accept oh God, my sacrifices of prayer and fasting, and grant me grace to kill my flesh and it’s burning desires.
• Give me the grace to always make right decisions by the promptings of your spirit within me, grant that I obey every instruction given to me by the spirit of God that lives within me. I approach your throne where there is grace, and I obtain mercy and grace that will help me through the journey of my repentance.
• Teach me to obey your words, to hear you clearly and to be willing to do that which you have commanded me.
• Surround me Lord, with people that aim for a life of purity, that I may be encouraged and strengthened.
• Thank you Lord for by faith I believe that my prayers have been answered, for I have courage in God’s presence for I am sure that he hears me, if I ask him for anything that is according to his will.(1john 5:14-15).
• Thank you for loving me so much more than I can ever imagine, for your love has caused a change of heart and resolution to live for you.
• Thank you for your mercies are new every morning. For your mercy had kept me and spoken louder than your judgement over my life .
• Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit, my helper in all things. For I believe that He will teach me all things and show me the right path to take. Blessed be your holy name for in Jesus name I pray, amen.
