There are times in the life of every born again Christian in Christ or believer experiences floods and storms in both the physical aspect and spiritual ways. Either way, these storms bring about unhappiness, pain, destruction and uncertainty. As a true believer in Christ, when you’re faced with such a situation, instead of panicking, losing faith and getting weary, you’re expected to put it up in prayers to God Almighty and await His final judgment on such issues. You pray, you meditate on the word, you fast and also confess and  repent of your sins genuinely. By doing so, the enemy would stop tormenting your soul because of your commitment to Christ. 

Physical attacks inflicted on the body such as sicknesses, injuries caused by accidents, pains in the bones and organs of the body as well as spiritual attacks inflicted on the soul such as nightmares, food poisoning in the dreams, tremendous backsliding in our faith in God, repeated acts of bad habits and sinful acts, mental illness  are the storms and floods that the enemies use to attack the children of God and the church. The bible made references in several verses to storms and floods as attacks and manipulations of the enemy.

We can’t overcome these storms and floods by our power, we need the help of Jesus to successfully overcome these, that’s why it’s essential we keep a close relationship with Jesus through prayers, studying the word of God and fasting to help us facilitate the process of becoming overcomers. 

Also, it’s important to note that staying away from sin as much as we can, will also make us less prone to these storms and floods that the devil goes about inflicting on people. Once you’re pure in heart and spirit, the devil and his agents will avoid you because you don’t carry with you any of his property. 

Let’s look at the book of Isaiah of the Holy Bible in the book of Isaiah, it says: 

Isaiah 59:19

19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

This verse gives every believer an assurance of God’s judgment over every flood and storm in our lives and how He will always be available to deliver us from the shackles of these floods and storms and give us a peaceful life. 

It further means that for every son and daughter of God, the Lord in His infinite mercy will protect us against every physical and spiritual attack no matter the angle, area or direction these attacks might arise. When the enemies strategize to implement their attack upon the children of God, when they see the mark of Christ in the lives of believers, they will retreat because they will become scared of us because of the great power of the Holy Spirit that we possess as children of God.
