INTRODUCTION
Faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something and it can also be described as a strong belief in the doctrines of a religion based on spiritual conviction rather than proof. Hope on the other hand is a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen. It is a feeling of trust. Faith gives the confidence of things happening now while hope believes the occurrence of such in the future. Faith and hope are attitudes to exhibit as a believer. Faith is grounded in the reality of the past while hope is looking to the reality of the future. Faith and hope are distinct yet related because faith is the confidence we have in what we hope for. Biblical hope is built on faith. Faith involves seeking for facts, getting to know the facts and having complete trust in those facts just like we get to know Jesus as our Lord and Savior, then we developed strong faith in him because we trusted him. We trust that it is only through Him, salvation can be gotten. Hope in the bible talks about wonderful and earnest anticipation that comes with believing something good. It is a peaceful assurance that something not seen will soon come to pass or happen. Hope gives us confidence in the supernatural power of God. Hope gives us that feeling that even though Jesus Christ hasn’t returned but since he promised, he will surely come back to take his believers to eternal bliss.
