30 PRAYERS TO SAY BEFORE YOU SLEEP

Our text for this topic is taken from the book of Psalm 121:3-4 it says he will not let your foot slip, he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

We can understand from the scripture read above that our sleep is very important to God, because one of the avenues the devil uses to  afflict believers is through their sleep, the bible says a little sleep a little slumber, we need to safeguard our sleep from the devil and his cohorts.

Spiritually we need to be vigilant and awake, that does not mean we should not sleep, we can sleep physically but let your spirit man be awake because the scriptures say but while men slept, his enemy came to sowed  tares among the wheat and went his way, the devil uses sleep to attack believers and children of God.

We need to understand that  the devil have afflicted so many believer in their sleep, we have had cases of people who sleep and wake up ill, depressed, mad by afflicting them with insanity, people have slept and wake up losing their jobs and business, because the devil have sowed evil seed into the destinies of men while they sleep.

God as given us the victory over the devil and his cohorts, that is we need to call on him in prayer before we sleep, he says call on me and I will answer you , he alone can give us a sound sleep in the night and destroy every agenda of the devil that he may have towards our sleep in the night.

Let’s Look At How To Experience A Good Night Sleep:

1. The first step is accept Christ as your Lord and personal saviour, when Christ is in you it will be difficult for the devil to have access to your night sleep
2. Before you sleep engage in praising God in a song by doing so you’re inviting the host of heaven into your abode and by doing so you will have a good night sleep.
3. Pray fervently before you sleep using the name of Jesus and the devil will flee from your abode.
4. Use the weapon of the blood by pleading the blood of Jesus before you sleep over your territory 
5. Declare the word of God in faith before you sleep reminding him of his promises over your life and you will have a good night rest

Read the following scriptures before you sleep in the night:

1. Psalm 127:2 – In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat—for he grants sleep to those he loves.
2. Proverbs 3:24 – When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
3. Job 11:19 – You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid, and many will court your favour.
4. Psalm 4:8 – In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.
5. Matthew 8:24 – Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.
