Introduction

In our world today, we see a lot of people being at a standstill in their life and destiny, some experiencing setbacks in all areas of life and there seems to be no way out for them. They keep groping and managing in such situations and there seems to be no end in sight. Today we will be looking at this issue of stagnation and setback in the life of God’s people and find out from scriptures if it is the will of God for His people, and if not, how to overcome it and move to the place of progress and forwardness.

Stagnation is a state or condition marked by lack of flow, movement or development in a place, country and the life of people. It is a state of causing a stop to the progress of people or a nation. It is keeping someone at a standstill while others and those behind him keep moving and overtaking him and eventually makes him obsolete in the affairs of life. Stagnation can occur at the place of work, lack of promotion, dullness in business, dryness in spirituality, stillness in finances and a lot more. It is not what anybody will wish to experience.

Setback on the other hand is the ability to slow down the progress of a people or nation and bring them backward. It is the reversal of someone’s progress which he has made overtime. Setback occurs when all one has ever worked for begins to crumble in his presence, the loss of job, destruction of businesses and finances and lot more. It takes one back to square one and leaves one there permanently.

Stagnation and setback are both the handworks of the devil and his agents, he deploys agents of stagnation and setback to the life and destiny of believers whom he knows are bound to make a mark on the earth. The devil stagnated the children of Israel in the land of Egypt for 430 years, until their cry got God and he sent them help and rescued them.

Stagnation and setback can also be ancestral or foundational due to the evil acts of our forefathers. The funny thing is the devil clings on this to inflict pain and hardship upon believers because of their ignorance. God can never stagnate or setback his children. The devil is in charge of this evil device and he uses it against God’s children.

God is all wise God, who knows the end from the beginning and is accountable to nobody. He knows all the gimmicks of the devil and has provided all that we will need to overcome the devils devices of stagnation and setback. Therefore, when you are faced with stagnation or setback, kindly do the following.

Refuse to give up: when you begin to experience either stagnation or setback, no matter what the situation, refuse to give in and give up on God. Let the devil and his agents know that your faith in God and his word is rooted and grounded, rather than keep lamenting on the situation, face the challenge and work it out with your maker.  God will surely answer for you because he knows that situation is not your place in life.

Seek to know: when such a situation continues unabated, seek to find out the root cause of the problem before embarking on the solution, this will help you not to beat around the bush. Remember when the enemy carted away David and his soldiers family and possession, he didn’t hasten to go after them, rather he went and sought the face of God to know which direction to go. So seek God and find out the cause of the problem and what to do to bring it an end. Jeremiah 33:3 says “call unto me and I will answer you, and I will show you great and mighty things which thou knowest not.” God is committed to answering you when you seek him with your whole heart.

Deal with it: when you have received instruction from God on what to do. Get to action and deal with that situation headlong, pray and fast with a heart of faith and break the yoke of stagnation and setback in your life and family. Without taking action, you will still find yourself in that same spot of stagnation and setback, even if you have all the solutions in your hand. Take action and you will see the devil and his baggage flee from your life.

Pray, fast and believe God: keep going to God in prayer and fasting and keep believing that He is able to get you out of that situation of stagnation and setback in no time. Remember, he who comes to God must come with a heart full of faith, not doubting or wavering, or else you will get nothing from God. When God sees your heart of faith and fervency, He will surely give you your breakthrough. Below are several prayer points which can help you get out of stagnation and setback in no time. As you pray this prayer points, the God who brought the children of Israel out of their slavery and servitude after four hundred and thirty years will come to your rescue, no matter how long that stagnation and setback have been in your life. 1. Father, I come against every form of stagnation and setback in my life by the power of the holy spirit, in the name of Jesus.
2. Father, I disengage myself from all appearances of stagnation and setback in all my life affairs, in the name of Jesus.
3. Father, I decree an end to every setback goal set against me by the forces of darkness, in the name of Jesus.
4. Father, every plan and purpose of hell arrayed against my destiny to stagnate it shall not prevail, in the mighty name of Jesus.
5. Father, I call forth fire from above to consume every spirit of stagnation standing at the door of my progress, in the name of Jesus.
6. Father, let every power of darkness causing marital stagnation in my life and destiny, be destroyed right now, in the name of Jesus.
7. Father, every foundational error that brings setback in my family and now speaking against my progress in life, I decree an end to them by the power of the holy ghost, in the name of Jesus.
8. Father, let every curse, spell and enchantments released into my life and destiny causing me stagnation and setbacks in any area of my life be averted by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
9. Father, by the blood of the eternal covenant, I am released from every curse having roots in my fathers house that is causing me stagnation and setbacks in any area of life, in the name of Jesus.
10. Father, let every stagnation and setbacks having roots from my mothers family and speaking against my life be nailed to the cross of Jesus and let me be set free, in the name of Jesus.
11. Father, let every ancestral curse of stagnation and covenants of setback carried out in my family that is speaking in my life and that of my family be broken by your power, in the name of Jesus.
12. Father, by your power, break every bondage of stagnation and setback in the life of your children and let them begin to move forward in life and destiny, in the name of Jesus.
13. Father, by the anointing, break every yoke of stagnation and setbacks standing against the glorious destiny of your children and cause them to go forward in life, in the name of Jesus.
14. Father, by your word, I command every red sea standing as an instrument of stagnation and setback for your people to go forward to part way right now, in the name of Jesus.
15. Father, every forces of wickedness speaking stagnation into my marital life, be consumed by the fire of the holy ghost, in the name of Jesus.
