INTRODUCTION

An orphan is a person especially a minor whose both or one of parents have died or a minor whose parents have permanently abandoned them. Orphans are commonly found in underdeveloped countries. Most orphans suffer different degrees of pain like psychological and emotional trauma when they are at a place where love and care are absent. These pains could be unbearable for them when they see their other friends with their parents. This makes them start taking up tasks meant for adults or doing what their parents ought to be doing for them. Orphans are exposed to different hardships if they don’t have good or no guardians. Most times, orphans are charged with the responsibility of catering for themselves like providing feeding, shelter and basic essentials of life. 

Majority of them become so wild and untrained because they lack proper home training. Bad traits which ought to be corrected immediately become a norm and way of life because they see nothing bad in them. The state of being an orphan can affect some children into thinking too much which can lead to depression making the quality of their life deteriorate drastically. Since no parent or parent factor to guide them right and guide their excesses, teachers in some of their schools are left with extra work to discharge. Orphans should be recognized and taken to the closest orphanage homes which is an institution established to cater for such children.

Aside from taking orphans to orphanage homes, we as individuals should take it upon ourselves to care and pray for the needy and fatherless among us. God seems to have a special fondness for orphans and widows because they are the most vulnerable among us. Praying and caring for orphans is a behavior every one of us should emulate just like Job in the bible did in his youthful days. Job 31:16-18.
