7 Signs That God Wants You To Marry Someone
BIBLE TEXT: GENESIS 2:18-25, PROVERBS 18:22
INTRODUCTION
The issue of marriage is a serious one, and must not be treated with levity. Apart from your salvation, the second most important decision in life is that of marriage. It is not something to leisurely walk into, especially as a Christian. One must be sure of God’s leading because God cannot lead His children astray.
There are lots of reasons why marriage should be taken seriously. One of those reasons is because both parties to a marriage are usually from different family backgrounds, and may also be from different cultural backgrounds. The way Mr. A is raised may be different from the way Miss B is raised; and this requires great work to be able to reach a compromise on certain issues in the marriage.Â

SIGNS THAT GOD WANTS YOU TO MARRY SOMEONE
The following are clear signs that God wants you to be with or marry someone:
- The relationship brings honor and glory to God: The one God has for you will love and want God as you. He will urge you to seek after Christ. He will have a similar belief system and values and live a life wherein he puts God first. Being with that person will not compromise your relationship with God, it will rather enhance it since he will urge you to serve God more.
God will not send you somebody that defiles your personality or misleads you. Hence, you will realize that your relationship celebrates, honors and glorifies God when all your discussions and actions honor God with your body, mind and soul.
- 2. You make each other better
Each relationship, regardless of whether it is romantic or otherwise, will either enhance your values in life or take away from it. Your relationship can either make you or mar you. The man or lady that God will lead to you for marriage will continuously enhance your reality. God will not send an individual that will deplete your values to you.
God will not send you somebody that upset your peace and tranquility, however he will lead you to an individual that enlightens you. This individual will be a place of refuge for your viewpoints, ideologies and dreams, and he will accept and uphold you on your journey in life. If the individual is the right one for you, the person in question will uphold you when you face difficulties as well as the other way around and you two will make each other better.
- You have peace that is unexplainable
Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
When God is guiding you to the one He wants you to marry, you will feel settled and relaxed whether you are seeing someone or not. There will be no disarray and no uneasiness around your relationship status. You can perceive that the season you are in is blessed by God.
- All things work together for your benefit
According to Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.”
When God is leading you to the one He has ordained to be your spouse, you will see that the right doors are opening and some unacceptable ways are shutting. Something that shook your reality three months before now makes total sense and turns out to be God’s ideal intervention.
- The individual aligns with God’s purpose for your life
Finding your purpose in life can be extremely difficult and overwhelming. Most times, we don’t have the slightest idea of what our purpose is yet. Be that as it may, when you do, you need to genuinely inquire as to whether your relationship aligns with it.
Is this individual driving you nearer to what God has called you to do? Or on the other hand, is the individual driving you away from it? You will know the answer to that by the level of support the person in question gives to you in pursuing your interest. If however, you feel like you need to let go of your calling or purpose just to be with this person, then, at that point, it implies the relationship is not in alignment with God’s purpose for you.
A considerable amount of times, you will try and find that God is driving you to the one by using your motivation.
- You trust one another
Another sign God is leading you to marry someone is trust. Building trust is progressive in nature; both of you want to invest in little installments of trust everyday. As time goes by, you can begin to increase the amount of trust you have for each other in the relationship.
The individual God has for you will make you feel comfortable investing in the relationship. You can trust him or him by their words and actions. His or her intentions for you will be clear and you will feel harmony about the relationship.
The best litmus test for trust is to notice his activities when he’s around you. Is he open and informative or is he secretive and difficult to access? Does he definitely disapprove of you being close when he’s on the telephone or reading messages? Or on the other hand, does he request that you get his call when he’s busy?
These habits could appear to be irrelevant, but if he’s excessively secretive around you, it is really a sign that he’s keeping bigger secrets from you, and such an individual is not reliable.
In a God-driven relationship, your feelings of fear, anxiety and questions will disappear as you spend more time together. You will begin to trust him, with the relationship as well as with your life, ambitions and future.
- The person in question is your answer to prayerÂ
Another sign that God wants you to marry somebody is that the man or woman you are dating is your answered prayers.
Despite the fact that you are not to deal with God like a genie who will give your unreasonable expectations for a man, I actually want to encourage you that God knows you and knows the individual He has for you.
One way of telling whether the individual in question is the ” ordained one” is if this individual has the genuine qualities you asked God for.
For instance, assuming that you genuinely asked God for your future spouse to be God-fearing, kind, cherishing, and insightful, then you realize God has approved the relationship if He met your request.
CONCLUSION
God has made everyone on this planet. He knows precisely who is on the right track for you and will send him when the time is right. Accordingly, you will not need to settle, compromise, or drop your values if they are godly. Significantly, being in a relationship means that you are combining two totally different families, backgrounds, and ideologies.
