INTRODUCTION:

God’s desire is for us to have a cordial relationship with Him, a relationship of father to son. He wants us to come freely to His Presence to commune and dine with Him. No father or mother will like or be happy if their children are far away from them in terms of relationship, this is the same with our heavenly father He desires us to draw closer to Him. In drawing closer to God, things get better for us, and we also live in peace and joy knowing God is with us always.  Drawing closer to God is one of the most paramount thing in a man life and destiny.

Therefore, in our article today, we will be looking at 35 prayers to draw closer to God.

Drawing closer to God is a personal decision that every child of God must make in one’s walk with God, although the devil will always do a lot of gimmicks to make us look so far away from God by making us fall short of God’s glory. Sin separates us from God; therefore, it is expedient for us to try as much as possible to do away from any appearance of evil. 

To draw closer to God we must do the following steps.

1. Be led by the spirit always. Sometimes you will hear some believers say things like, let us live Christianity aside, this statement must never proceed out of any child of God. Never leave Christianity aside.  Galatians 5:16 says” So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 
2. To be able to walk in the spirit you must study the word of God. According to Joshua 1:8 which says’ Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
3. Attend a bible believing church, where the word of God is preached undiluted.    Proverbs 27:17 says” As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
4. Do away with unfriendly friends that do not add value to your spirituality and walk with God. Psalm 1:1 says” Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked
   or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,
5. Pray always. Communicating with God always, is paramount to our Christian journey on earth. As it has been rightly said that prayer is communion with God. You cannot say You are a child of God and not communicate with Him. Communication is the key in any relationship.

1. Lord Jesus thank You for You are my father and You will not leave me nor forsake me in the name of Jesus.
2. I confess every sin that is taking Your Presence away from my life in the name of Jesus.
3. Every sin in my life, separating me from Your love, perish and leave me alone in the name of Jesus.
4. Lord Jesus mold me and re mold me in Your likeness in the name of Jesus.
5. Power to draw closer to You in truth and spirit, overshadow my life in the name of Jesus.
6. Arrows of backwardness fired against my spiritual walk with God, backfire in the name of Jesus.
7. Every spirit of lying and stealing fashioned against my life, perish by fire in the name of Jesus.
8. Oh Lord my father restores the joy of my salvation and renews a right spirit within me in the name of Jesus.
9. Every environmental setback fighting against my walk with God, fall and die in the name of Jesus.
10. Anointing to do exploits in the kingdom of God, overshadow my life in the name of Jesus.
11. Oh Lord my father let my life draw men unto You in the name of Jesus.
12. Oh Lord my father baptize with Your Holy Ghost and fire in the name of Jesus.
13. Power to tarry in Your Presence and commune with You, overshadow me in the name of Jesus.
14. Grace to walk away from anything that is not of the spirit of God overshadow my life in the name of Jesus.
15. I conquer by fire, any power speaking against my walk with God in the name of Jesus.
16. I receive the Apostolic fire of the new testament in the name of Jesus.
17. Oh Lord my father delivered me from self in the name of Jesus.
18. My Father be my guide and guard all the days of my life in the name of Jesus.
19. I will not end my life in hell in the name of Jesus.
20. Lord I receive grace to serve You till the end of my life in the name of Jesus.
21. I decree in the name of Jesus that sin will not take me away from Your Presence in the name of Jesus.
22. I receive grace to walk in Your love all the days of my life in the name of Jesus.
23. I rebuke the spirit of pride and arrogance from my life in the name of Jesus.
24. I receive grace to hear from You and obey in the name of Jesus.
25. I receive the spirit of humility and love in the name of Jesus.
26. Every satanic gang up against my walk with You, scatter unto desolation in the name of Jesus.
27. My life will speak forth of Your glory and grace in the name of Jesus.
28. I rebuke every problem that takes one away from serving and trusting in God in the name of Jesus.
29. Every loophole that the devil is using to enter my life to block my closeness with God, be filled by the blood of Jesus in the name of Jesus.
30. I silence by fire every environmental force against my walk with God in the name of Jesus.
31. I speak life over my spiritual life in the name of Jesus.
32. Every spirit of lukewarmness over my spiritual life, catch fire of the Holy Ghost in the name of Jesus.
33. I win every battle that may want me to forsake God in the name of Jesus.
34. Every power that may want to pollute my spiritual pipe, perish by fire in the name of Jesus.
35. Let people see Christ in me the hope of glory in the name of Jesus.
