What is Lust?

Lust is a feeling of desire usually the one driven by sexual arousal. Lust can also be to look at someone with a strong desire by sexual arousal. It can also be a longing after something or someone.

Lustful desires and Lustful thoughts are very abominable in the sight of God. Our heavenly Father had in several cases shown His dislike for lust.

Matthew 5:28 “But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart”

The above scripture is a clear evidence of God’s dislike for lust. It is made known in the Bible verse that by looking at a woman with a lustful desire is also equating to lust. We know as children of God that every other sin we commit is to ourselves but the sin of adultery is a sin against God Himself.

Matthew 5:27 “You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery”

We must know that our body is a vessel for God and our body is God’s temple and we must make sure that our vessel is a holy and pure place for him to live.

Hebrews 12:14 “Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord”

The devil our arch enemy knows very well that God is always unhappy with adultery hence the devil is always attacking Christians with the spirit of lust so he can get them to sin against God and the devil does this by sending the spirit of lust into the lives of Christians. This is showing clearly that the prayer against the spirit of lust is a very powerful and important prayer for all Christians to pray, so that God can reveal the plans of the devil and render the plans useless.

As children of God, throughout our Christian race and journey in life, we must be vigilant, watchful and prayerful.

1. My Father, I thank you for the opportunity you have released upon me to be alive to witness this day as a living soul in Jesus Name.
